Changing Lanes Unforeseen forces beckon me My heart speeds up…Now I can’t breathe. Something I fight alone Through appearance it’s not shown. I’ve grown tired and weary of these attacks I want what they’ve taken back. Precious time unraveled in chest pains Starting down a new journey with veering lanes. Sometimes I wish for a single dirt road With piercing sunshine and a sign "Hardship Unload". A new beginning as spring blooms Strength in my foundation weakness I loose. Anxiety dissipates and a smile has arise Determination takes over leaving a shield on family ties. I give more than I have daily Knowing I am the only one who can save me. Yearning eternally to be the greatest Mom I leave nothing for me to hold on. Yet somehow I reach into the core of my being, And find another ounce of potency to help me maintain seeing… I have enough drive to make it So whatever the future holds I can take it. |
