Let it rain down on me today
I want to feel some of these heavenly rays.
God please give me some more faith,
cause I’m about to educate…Myself.
Put my life on hold for so long
now I know this path can’t be wrong.
I want to be someone someday
I don’t know what I’m spacing.
Its one big daydream right now,
but it will be mine somehow.
I’m jumping in with both feet
my kids are half grown together we’ll teach.
So let these rain drops be full of strength
each drop has to penetrate
all the way inside of me
to the core of what made my personality.
Let the air I breathe
lift and motivate me.
Let sounds of nature call out signs
to remind me I can make it in hard times.
Or even the warm sun upon my face
can create a very special escape.
Push me when I have to stay out in the cold
be my conscious saying "You can’t stay home".
Remind me through dreams
what rewards this will bring…
my self respect, a better life, and opportunities.
Through my past I’m wise and I’ve compromised
now I hear future knowledge knocking.
