I just wanted to tell you I’m just like you
I think the same, and I work like you do.
I want you to know that no matter how bad it used to be
I’m thankful for all you’ve done for me.
Even when I did the things that angered you so very much
you still kept your ears open and gave your loving touch.
Every time Fathers Day comes around I get sad,
because I never have any money to show you I love you Dad!
I do still think about you guys all the time,
but I’m always working and trying to keep things together in my mind.
I just have one question for you Dad…
What do you do when you’re sad?
Whose shoulder do you cry upon?
We’re always there for someone else, but when we need someone they’re gone.
Don’t you ever just feel like breaking down?
It’s very hard for me to seek inner peace that is one thing I’ve found.
I’ve learned a lot from you in all our situations,
and I know how to handle them for you’ve given me lots of patience.
From you guys I’ve learned a lot…
Even though it was wrong, because for everything you’ve fought.
Well I think everything happens for a very good reason
if it didn’t no one would ever learn, and there wouldn’t be any pleasing.
So you made me strong…For that there’s nothing wrong.
I love you both and I just had to clear my head,
and everything I wanted to I think I’ve said?
I hope this poem doesn’t make you feel sad,
because I didn’t write this to make you feel bad.
I want you two to know you still matter to me,
and there’s no other place I would’ve wanted to be.
A family we’ll always be,
we just need to get a little closer you see.
Even though our past was bad…Our love will last forever and ever.
Together we will remember…
